Michael K. Cobb
Director & CEO, ECI Development
At the height of a successful career in the computer industry, Mr. Cobb left to pursue more pioneering opportunities in the emerging real estate markets of Central America. In 1996, he and his business partner formed a company, Exotic Caye International, to provide loans to North Americans purchasing properties in Belize, Honduras, Costa Rica, and throughout the region. As the need for capital outstripped the supply, the mortgage company was converted to an international bank under the jurisdiction of Belize. As Caye International Bank, it continues to provide mortgage services but has expanded its offerings to encompass the full realm of financial products.
With a strong focus on consumer needs, Mr. Cobb accurately predicted the growing demand for high-quality residential properties for North American Baby Boomer retirees in the region. He led the group into real estate development and created a holding company called ECI Development, which manages several properties, including a resort on Ambergris Caye, Belize.
ECI is now a multi-country developer with projects in four countries of Latin America: Belize, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama. Communities are also planned in Ecuador and Chile. The development model pursued is based on the Del Webb Sun City active senior communities in the U.S., with a focus on serving these consumers in multiple countries and geographies across the region.
In August of 2000, ECI Development purchased 3.5 miles of Pacific beachfront property due west of Managua, Nicaragua. Residents of this master-planned community now enjoy world-class infrastructure, a golf course, homes, and condominium units. In February of 2006, the ECI Development group acquired 1,100 acres and 3 kilometers of coastline in Costa Rica, setting the stage for expansion into this popular market. In 2008, the group merged an oceanfront resort in Belize with a much larger property off the water, including a pool, tennis courts, and a fitness center, to create the Baymen Gardens Residential Community, the first of its kind on Ambergris Caye. In 2012, ECI Development purchased a position in a new project in Panama, adding over 700 acres and another mile of Pacific beachfront to their holdings.
Mike Cobb speaks at dozens of international conferences annually about offshore real estate finance, development, and ownership. He was a consultant to The Oxford Club, hosted a weekly radio program, contributes regularly to overseas publications, sits on the board of several international companies, gives counsel to various real estate projects throughout Central America, serves on the Presidents’ Advisory Group for the National Association of Realtors (NAR), and speaks at various National and International NAR events for realtors around the world.
Mike, his wife Carol, and their two daughters, Amanda and Emily, now make their home in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, after living in Central America for over 15 years.

Joshua M. Guttau
Chief Executive Officer
TS Banking Group.
As a CEO, former CFO, Director, and owner of the TS Banking Group, Josh has focused on two primary areas since joining in 2003: proactively managing the company culture and the balance sheet. In 2013, a multi-bank acquisition strategy was launched by forming a second bank holding company within the TS Banking Group, aimed at acquiring community banks throughout the upper Midwest. The five-year strategic plan aims to make 5-10 acquisitions to grow TS Banking Group to ~$2 billion in banking assets and $1-2 billion in wealth management/trust assets.
With a 90-year legacy, the TS Banking Group has strategically grown from $50 million in 2004 to $1 billion in banking assets, $400 million in AUMs, 180 full-time employees, and 10 banking locations across three banking charters. Since Josh’s arrival, the banking group has consistently earned top rankings, including the ICBA & ABA’s #1 national ranking for ROA/ROE performance in 2009 (<$250mm assets), and top 5 in their respective states for 9 consecutive years. In 2014, the group received the Proven Performers Award from Fiserv for being one of the top 300 banks in performance over the prior 5 years. The group also received the 2009 Fiserv and 2010 Celent Model Technology Bank awards and was listed on the Top Workplace Award among Iowa Small Businesses from 2011 to 2017, capturing the top spot in 2012.
The TS Banking Group has expanded beyond traditional community banking, including:
TS Prosperity Group, which combines fiduciary services with contrarian investment analytics and management offerings. TS Prosperity Group’s proprietary investment funds include private placement real estate, private options trading strategies, and diversified “Core” and “Explore” investment strategies to create better risk-adjusted returns.
TS Ag Finance, an affiliated business focused on originating and underwriting agricultural real estate loans across the U.S.
The TS Banking Group gifts 10% of its profits to the bank’s community foundation. In 2009, they launched the "TS Institute: Financial Literacy for the Future" as a pilot project in the local K-12 school district, which has since expanded across the bank’s footprint and is now helping other banks as well.
Josh holds an MBA in Finance & Strategic Planning from Iowa State University and a Professional Masters of Banking from Louisiana State University. He has worked with global and national corporations in the consumer food, manufacturing, agriculture, and banking industries. He has also taught at the Graduate School of Banking-Colorado. In addition, Josh uses his BS in Animal Science and Agronomy to manage a 500-head commercial cow herd, a project he started 30 years ago in 4-H.
Josh has volunteered on several community, charitable, and industry boards, including eight years of school board service. He currently serves as a trustee for the Iowa Banker’s Benefit Plan and a director for Olsson Associates Engineering in Lincoln, NE.

Porter Stansberry
Founder of MarketWise, Porter & Co., and OneBlade
Porter Stansberry has been rewriting the rules of financial publishing for more than 25 years. Starting in 1999, he pecked out his first newsletter (Pirate Investor) on a borrowed laptop in a rundown apartment in Baltimore. He continues on the path of creating superb financial advice today with his current venture, Porter & Co., founded in April 2022, and as a board member for MarketWise, which he founded and whose board he rejoined in September 2023.
Porter’s astounding achievements in the financial newsletter industry are made possible by a simple guiding principle. Says Porter, “You can’t trick customers into paying for financial advice. You have to have something proprietary, valuable, and easy to use. And you have to offer it for sale in an ethical way, by putting the customer first in every aspect of your business.”
With Porter & Co., MarketWise, and everything Porter takes on, his mission has remained steady for more than two decades: be the world’s leading independent providers of financial research — and set new industry standards for customer service, technological integration, and proprietary analytics.
Porter is also Founder of OneBlade, Inc., a men’s luxury shaving brand. He’s a proud husband and father, and an avid outdoorsman. Porter holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and government from the University of Florida.
